Colophon

In an effort to make fprings.com more user friendly I have read "Don’t Make Me Think" by Steve Krug and implemented many of his suggestions. A few of these implemented suggestions include:

  • Make the purpose of the web site obvious
  • Cutout unnecessary words and divide text into short paragraphs
  • Use of headings and bold to make content scannable
  • A “start here” entry point on my home page to make it clear where to start
  • The conventional use of tabs for navigation
  • An introduction paragraph briefly explaining the purpose of my site
  • A common layout and navigation throughout

In general I have attempted to keep my layout and design simple as to avoid any potential "think bubbles" for any users of my web site. My favorite part of the whole process was when I performed three usability tests on a few family members to better understand how to improve my site.

I have reviewed my site using the following browsers and operating systems: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Mac X Leopard. While there are a few very minor differences throughout, it appears that fprings.com works as designed in each of the said browsers and operating systems.
